CONCRETE OVERLAY

Concrete overlays are an alternative to breaking out and replacing an existing concrete slab, which can be expensive, messy, disruptive and time-consuming. With a concrete overlay, you can give worn, lackluster concrete a decorative makeover or restore it to new like conditions in as little as a day and at a fraction of the cost. Concrete overlay can also be used to patch and fill cracks and holes in your existing concrete

Elasticrete Magnesite Cement (EMC) is a blend bag mix compound designed to be mixed with Elasticrete Latex to provide a multi-use cementitious slurry. It is manufactured in 50 lb. bags; available in 60 grit gray or 60 grit white.

Elasticrete Latex is a concentrated latex modifier formulated to be diluted 1 to 1 with water by the end user.

All three products (1x50 lbs bag of EMC, 1 gallon of Elasticrete Latex & 1 gallon of regular tap water) are then mixed together to desired consistency and applied in a wide array of techniques.  When applied at 1/8” thick coverage is 65 sq/ft per 50lb bag.  When applied at 1/4” thick coverage is 32 sq/ft per 50lb bag.

Not all existing concrete is a suitable candidate for an overlay. The concrete must be structurally sound, without gapping cracks, severe delamination, or an unstable subbase. Proper surface preparation of the concrete is also imperative to ensure good bonding of the overlay. Any non-structural cracks wider than hairline should also be repaired.
